CCS is proud to be an integral part of Shooting for Hope, which recently raised $62,000.00 for the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund! Shooting for Hope is an annual clay shoot tournament that was established in 2019 by Dan Davis of CCS and Richard Michaux, the former Facilities Director at Orange Park Medical Center. In its inaugural year, the event raised $25,000.00 for the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund and had 83 shooters in attendance.
To expand upon last year’s success, CCS and OPMC decided to add on Memorial Hospital, another HCA Healthcare affiliate, as a founding partner. The founding partners then established a committee of local businesses who assisted in making this year’s event that much bigger and better. The committee included Brian Hines (Miller Electric), Carrie Hines (Miller Electric), Ryan Taylor (CPPI), Bill Brown (W.W Gay), and Laura Taylor (Brown Enterprises). With the committees help, Shooting for Hope went on to sell 29 sponsorships and register 117 shooters before the event was canceled due to coronavirus.
While the event could not go on, thanks to the generosity of those that sponsored and registered, Shooting for Hope was still able to make a sizable donation to the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund. The HCA Healthcare Hope Fund is an employee-run charity that provides financial assistance to those within HCA Healthcare that are dealing with loss of a loved one, domestic violence, natural disaster, extended illness or injury, and other difficult situations. Given the overwhelming surge that healthcare facilities across the United States are facing, the donation could not have come at a better time. We are thrilled we can assist in providing those heroes with Hope.
Even though the event was canceled, the Golf Cart Drawing still took place at Memorial Hospital on Friday, March 27th, the original event date. The drawing brought in 1,133 tickets, with Memorial Hospital winning the competition between the hospitals, selling 6 more tickets than Orange Park Medical Center. The winning ticket belonged to a Memorial Hospital employee, Rhonda A., who will be gifting the golf cart to her father.
CCS, and the Shooting for Hope Committee, appreciate all the support that has been given to the event over the past few months. We were thrilled to see the overall donation amount more than double in our second year and look forward to supporting the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund for years to come. We will be continuing the event in 2021 under our new name, Targeting Hope.
